Large Intelligent Surfaces With Channel Estimation Overhead: Achievable Rate and Optimal Configuration

چکیده

Large intelligent surfaces (LIS) present a promising new technology for enhancing the performance of wireless communication systems. Realizing gains LIS requires accurate channel knowledge, and in practice estimation overhead can be large due to passive nature LIS. Here, we study achievable rate LIS-assisted single-input single-output system, accounting pilot least-squares estimator. We demonstrate that there exists an optimal K * , which maximizes by balancing power offered overhead. analytical approximations based on maximizing upper bound average derive, dependencies statistical system parameters.

Distributed Space-Time Block Coded Transmission with Imperfect Channel Estimation: Achievable Rate and Power Allocation

This paper investigates the effects of channel estimation error at the receiver on the achievable rate of distributed space-time block coded transmission. We consider that multiple transmitters cooperate to send the signal to the receiver and derive lower and upper bounds on the mutual information of distributed space-time block codes (D-STBCs) when the channel gains and channel estimation erro...

Achievable rate of MIMO channels with data-aided channel estimation and perfect interleaving

The achievable rate of a coherent coded modulation (CM) digital communication system with dataaided channel estimation and a discrete, equiprobable symbol alphabet is derived under the assumption that the system operates on a flat fading MIMO channel and uses an interleaver to combat the bursty nature of the channel. It is shown that linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) channel estimation d...

An Achievable Rate for an Optical Channel with Finite Memory

A fiber optic channel is modeled in a variety of ways; from the simple additive white complex Gaussian noise model, to models that incorporate memory in the channel. Because of Kerr nonlinearity, a simple model is not a good approximation to an optical fiber. Hence we study a fiber optic channel with finite memory and provide an achievable bound on channel capacity that improves upon a previous...

Achievable Secrecy Rate Regions of State Dependent Causal Cognitive Interference Channel

In this paper, the secrecy problem in the state dependent causal cognitive interference channel is studied. The channel state is non-causally known at the cognitive encoder. The message of the cognitive encoder must be kept secret from the primary receiver. We use a coding scheme which is a combination of compress-and-forward strategy with Marton coding, Gel’fand-Pinsker coding and Wyner’s wire...

An Achievable Rate Region for Cooperative Multiple Access Channel

An achievable rate region for a 3-node cooperative multiple access channel (CMAC) is presented in this paper. A CMAC contains multiple users cooperatively transmitting information to a single destination node. It includes the traditional multiple access channel that assumes no communication between source nodes, and multiple input single output (MISO) system that contains ideal links between so...
